Imagine: a mane that curls like a sheep, a soft look to melt, and above all... zero sneezes. The curly horse isn't just cute with its curls. Even allergy sufferers can usually ride this horse without problems.
For years, you may have had to give up. Watching others ride from afar. But that was before.
The Curly is a special horse: he is not completely free of allergens, but his genetic mutations (KRT25 and SP6) greatly reduce the risk of reactions. Native to North America and used by American Indians, it has a calm temperament ideal for equine therapy.
In France, you can find Curlys at EDACURLY (Brittany), Curly de Provence or HemaCurly. This hardy breed compares favorably to Icelanders and Fjords, while requiring specific care adapted to its particular curly coat.

Where does this funny curly horse come from?
The curly horse fascinates with its history and unique appearance. Let's discover together the origins of this exceptional breed and what makes its special charm.
A legend from America
The curly horse comes straight from North America. American Bashkir Curly, North American Curly Horse... It has many names, but only one story. The Sioux Indians and Crow tribes already knew about it in the early 1800s. For them, these curly-haired horses were sacred. Living lucky charms.
Resistant, soft, almost magical.
In 1898, Peter Damele and his father discovered these curly horses in the wild in the mountains of Nevada. Their mission? Preserve this unique coat while keeping a strong and balanced horse. The harsh winter of 1932 decimated the majority of their livestock. Only the curlys survive, proving their incredible resistance to the cold.
The result? A rustic horse, intelligent and incredibly close to humans.
